Major General Md Nasim Parvez, ndc, afwc, psc

Major General Nasim has served in different command, staff and instructor appointments in his illustrious career. He has served as Commanding Officer of a Formation Signal Battalion along with other regimental command appointments. He has served as staff and instructor in different capacities in different ranks. He is an expert in the telecommunication sector and served successfully as Director General of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). During his service at BTRC, he has attended many conference/training in various International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT) and South Asian Telecommunication Regulators' Council (SATRC) events. He has also participated in number of seminars and workshop at national and international level. He has served twice under the blue helmets as a contingent member in DR Congo and as a military observer in Liberia. As a member of Bangladesh Army, the General has attended numerous courses, trainings, exercises both at home and abroad. He has a number of publications in National Defence College (NDC) Journal and in different telecommunication magazines. Apart from military honours and decorations, the General has recently received a national award for his outstanding contribution in the telecommunication and internet sector in Bangladesh. He is undergoing PhD program on "Internet of Things for Bangladesh: Prospects and Challenges of Providing Citizen Services in the Urban Areas" in Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). The General has taken over the responsibility of Commandant, Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT) from 21 September 2023.
